What would Brother Andrew have thought if he could have been there? The ‘green dictionary for Jordanian Sign Language’, which he worked on for years, is now available online for everyone. In addition, it has been supplemented with new signs and specific signs for use in deaf education. More than 400 teachers from 13 deaf schools were trained in its use last summer. What a moment to reflect on and become speechless!

Ahlam and Ala’, both former students and employees of his deaf school in Salt, played a major role in making the online dictionary possible. Brother Andrew’s legacy is tremendous. So huge that four years after his death his innovative work is still visible. During our video message we of course referred to our beloved inspirer and his groundbreaking efforts that made this step possible (see photo).

But this is not the end result. The work on the dictionary continues, as you can read on this website. A collaboration on it has been established with the organization SIL International. Also, the work of the summer camps by Peace Dove for the Deaf is still bearing fruit.
