Bernadet works for the sign language department of SIL International, a non-profit organization that works with local communities around the world to develop language solutions that increase opportunities for a better life. There is also specialist knowledge of sign languages. We already use the tool SooSL developed by SIL, in which the online dictionary of Jordanian Sign Language has been made available. We may be able to use more of these tools in the future, for example in our project for the availability and training of Jordanian Sign Language interpreters.

Donation
Last summer we had a meeting with SIL about support for our online dictionary project. SIL made 20,000 euros available for the work of Ahlam and her team. This also includes the costs of support from Bernadet, technical support and the addition of new signs. Until now, we have been able to use money that has been realized from Brother Andrew’s legacy and from support from our donors. With the support of SIL, so much more is possible. We are extremely grateful for that.
