Annual report 2020: an impressive year
The Carpenter’s Son Foundation was mainly established to share the ideas of Brother Andrew (the Carpentier) with as many people as possible. The foundation does this by publishing (multimedia) publications on various subjects that were so dear to him. We also support projects related to our assignment, especially for the deaf and deafblind.
Explanation annual report 2020
In the 2020 annual report we look back on the activities and provide an explanation of the expenses and income of The Carpenter’s Son. Thanks to your support, the foundation has been able to make a valuable contribution to various projects and activities in 2020. At the same time 2020 marks the year in which our source of inspiration, Brother Andrew, died as a result of a construction accident. He has helped thousands with life, hope and direction. Brother Andrew’s legacy is immense.
In 2020, the foundation was able to make a valuable contribution in the following areas:
- Tactile Dictionary for Deafblind
- Project Officer Jordan Center for Rehabilitation Technology (JCRT)
- Online Memorial of Brother Andrew
- Financial compensation project employee
- revamp website as an online publishing platform
- Start of the podcast series ‘Gebaren van God’ (God’s Sign Language)
In 2020, despite corona, we could count on support from private individuals, churches, companies and a fund. The total donations in 2020 amounted to € 20,278. The year also brought unforeseen expenses, such as the online commemoration of Brother Andrew and the revamp of our website. A total of € 17,527 was spent. The foundation ended positively on the balance sheet, so that a buffer has been built up for expenditure to be incurred in 2021.
As the board of The Carpenter’s Son, we have a positive view on the future. It is indeed challenging to find direction without our inspirer, but we keep our eye on Him and trust His guidance. We continue to work towards our goal of making Brother Andrew’s ideas widely available and working on the relationship between Christians and Muslims. The year 2021 will be dominated by dealing with the loss, maintaining contacts, publishing his ideas on various platforms and preparing for project activities in 2022. Where possible we want to continue the projects that Brother Andrew worked so hard for.
